Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Swordes moved to New York City to pursue a fine arts education at Parsons School of Design.
After a year of school and becoming disillusioned with academia, she began making music as a joke.
With her only vocal training being her shower, and her only musical training being non-existent, Swordes’s style is eclectic, experimental ,and most of all, fun.
In a world saturated with hyper-produced computer music, autotuned vocals, and Big Label Sensibility, she instead reflects an honest, poetic, and deeply personal artwork.
Swordes still writes, produces, records, and mixes all of her music, and has incorporated her origins as a visual artist in her cover art and aesthetic.
