BLEACH LAB

For BLEACH LAB, Lost In A Rush of Emptiness – the title of the band’s debut album, a line borrowed from Leonard Cohen’s posthumous collection The Flame – has come to represent the all-consuming pit of dread that accompanies a piece of devastating news. Between them, the band (vocalist Jenna Kyle, bassist Josh Longman, drummer Kieran Weston and guitarist Louis Takooree) have experienced their fair share of these moments.

Produced by Catherine Marks (Boygenius, PJ Harvey) this was the first record the band were able to record live in a room together; a transformative move after forging their trio of explorative EPs when they were splintered apart by the isolation of lockdown. For Kyle, the ending of a toxic and unhealthy relationship heavily informed the core of the album. The record scrambles to try and surface back into existing alone again but rather than moving towards a moment of revelation, Bleach Lab burrow deep into the disorientation of these life-altering moments, dissecting the void atop glimmering indie-rock.

Further elevating their reputation with their dynamic live shows – which have included a sold-out headline show at London’s Lafayette late last year and a packed-out recent set at Latitude Festival. Bleach Lab have just returned from their debut album headline tour with dates through Europe, Ireland/UK.
