After recently releasing their debut self-titled album and appearing on Jack Saunders’ Radio 1 show, as recommended via Jake Bugg’s Future Artists Mixtape, Sancho Panza have confidently reemerged from lockdown with more funk and edge than ever before.
With two sold-out headliner shows at The Bodega Social Club and an appearance on Tom Robinson’s BBC 6 Music Introducing Mixtape, Sancho Panza’s music offers escapist idealism, presenting surrealist imagery through tracks such as ‘Suit & Hat’ & ‘Hydro Hotel’. The bands sound is diverse, moving from blown-out lo-fi guitar riffs to smooth waltzes seamlessly.
Since forming they have appeared as main supports around the country for the likes of Inhaler, Fling and The Rhythm Method.
‘The 2200 Year Event’, Sanchoβs second single, received a place on Spotifyβs Hot New Bands playlist and became their fastest-growing track to date. With 20,000 streams and counting under their belt anticipation awaits what lies ahead for the band.
Emulating sounds from the early 90s Manchester scene and progressive 60s artists they are the most exciting and illusive talked about group band to come from the city of Robin Hood in the past decade.
